Free internet marketing tips from Lane Consultancy....

1. Your Website: Make to most of your website and the internet - pound for pound, marketing your business online is usually far more effective than traditional methods.

2. Pay Per Click: Use pay per click marketing to drive visitors to your website. Pay per click is nothing short of a marketing revolution. It’s made many people millionaires and when done properly can give you awesome return on investment.

3. Capture Visitors Details: Make sure you have an “optin box” somewhere on your web pages so that visitors can give you their details in exchange for a brochure, newsletter, DVD, CD etc. Although these people haven’t bought yet, they are far more likely to be customers in the future if you follow up with them. This leads me nicely onto…

4. Email marketing: Once a visitor has requested information from you and given you permission to contact them, use email marketing as a follow up tool. Email is great because it’s free! This can be setup automatically so that you don’t have to sit at the computer all day typing emails.
5. Audio & Video: Technology on the internet allows us to put audio and video on websites for relatively low cost these days. To save the publishing and distribution costs of CD’s and DVD’s, why not put them up on your website as downloads?
6. Joint Ventures #1: Host beneficiary ventures: this is where you approach a “host” company to contact their customers on your behalf. The host company gets a percentage of sales generated from the venture as their fee. This can work the other way around to - you can be the host and earn extra money for little effort!
7. Joint Ventures #2: Dead leads are much overlooked. If you can find a willing competitor, ask them if you could contact their leads that haven’t converted into a sale for them. In exchange, give them a percentage of the sale if the dead lead buys with your company.
8. PR: Free publicity. Find an aspect of your industry that people want to know about or find interesting, then write an article/report/white paper about it. Then send it to publications that would be interested in featuring the article in their magazine, newspaper, trade journal etc. If your article is interesting enough, there’s a very good chance it’ll be published
