Introducing MASK and the Holiday Playscheme

MASK was established to create a happy environment where excellence is the norm and children develop to their full potential.  The daily routine is set up in such a way that the children should learn through play and so a wide variety of activities are available to enable the children to develop mentally and physically as well as learning how to integrate socially.  We place great emphasis on social skills, with discipline and courtesy treated as standard by both adults and children.

Our aim is that the children should respect others as well as themselves with play situations offering ample opportunity for sharing, turn taking etc.

We believe in treating children as individuals as well as catering for all their needs. Our thinking is that children’s learning is at the heart of our understanding.

The Daily Routine

Children are happiest in a secure environment. Therefore we follow a regular daily routine with meals and breaks for drinks at the same time each day.  Thus the day is broken up into sessions during which there will be a number of different play activities available aimed to cover the six area of development, within the foundation framework.

All planning is devised around the children’s ability and development. Topics are orientated around children’s interests and we always encourage their input, when doing so.

At both the Afterschool Club and Holiday Club we incorporate a variety of arts and crafts, sports, role play, games and construction toys. We also allow the children the opportunity to socialise, so that the foundation of friendships can be formed, in a warm friendly  environment.

The Staff at MASK

MASK is co-ordinated and managed by Daisy Martin Working alongside her is Tracey Osborne, they are both trained and experienced at NVQ level 3.

The staff are currently working towards a Quality Assurance Scheme, which helps ensure high quality child care and meets the conditions of the Children’s Act 1998 plus all other relevant childcare legislation, wherever they apply.  Policies and procedures are available on request.

Walking Bus

We provide a Walking Bus service to and from Shepherdswell First School, Orchards School and Penwith First School. This consists of two members of staff collecting registered children from this area at present. Surrounding schools could be considered in the future with a mini bus service. We then take them to MASK at the Willows. There will be an extra charge for this service.
