People is a not-for-profit organisation that helps charities in
Milton Keynes
to effectively and efficiently raise the funds they need.
There are about 168,000 registered charities in England & Wales
and over 600 of these are based here in Milton Keynes.
The combined income of charities in the UK (estimated by the
Charity Commission at £24 billion) is larger than the Gross
National Product of many countries, but individually most
charitable organisations are small with two thirds working with
an annual income of less than £10,000.
A small charity, particularly at a local level, often delivers
extremely valuable help and assistance to disadvantaged people;
it may facilitate the needs of specific groups within society;
or it could make available services to the community that the
Government and local authorities either don’t or no longer
provide. In most cases such charities could do more if they had
more money, but often due to limited resources they can struggle
just to keep going.
However fundraising takes time and costs money.
And unfortunately, unlike their larger counterparts, small
charities aren’t able to directly employ fundraising staff and
are often limited in the fundraising activities they can
undertake because of cost, complexity and possible risk.
Charitable People is a professional
fundraising organisation set-up to work with local charities.
Either for a
specific project or an ongoing campaign we seek to provide a
full range of fundraising services that allow charities of any
size to raise money in the most efficient way.
