About SNAP MK |
Established In 1991
MK SNAP works with individuals aged over 16 with
physical and learning disabilities. Through our links with
companies we provide real work opportunities as a focus
for training in a non-pressurised, supportive
environment. Work is outsourced to our centre where we have the facilities to make the most
of each project.
Operations Director Ian Farmer heads a dedicated team of
9 full time staff providing care, tuition and support to
over 80 registered clients. Places at MK SNAP can be
requested directly or by referral from other agencies
like Social Services. To ethically outsource from
your company call Ian Farmer on 01908 262407. |

What we do |
|
MK
SNAP is provided with real work tasks by local companies. We’re not
a factory - clients are never pressured or given time-critical
tasks nor do they have to do the same job each day. We aim to
provide stimulating, supportive training at all times.
In some cases clients can gain or regain full employment thanks
to the care and training at SNAP, with every client having a
productive role.
Work as a focus for development - Packing, product
assembly and mail shots provide stimulating challenges for
clients with complex learning needs and difficulties. Our
woodwork shop enables the production of high quality wooden
goods for sale.
Self–reliance is encouraged, but work is carried out on a team
basis with clients helping and supporting each other. |

Ways you can help |
|
MK
SNAP approaches Trusts and Foundations, commerce and industry,
non-statutory organisations and individuals to become involved
with the new Centre. You too can support the appeal in
various ways: |
|
▪ Companies Gift
Aid Scheme
Under new rules, any company making a Gift Aid donation will be
able to do so without having to deduct income tax. No
declaration is required. |
▪ Individuals
Gift Aid Scheme
Under the Gift Aid Scheme, providing the individual donor is a
UK taxpayer, any donation greater than £1 enables the charity to
increase the donation by 28.2%. All that is required is for you
to sign a declaration, which we will supply.
You can also make a Gift Aid donation over the telephone. In the
case of oral donations we will ask for the necessary details and
send you a written record. |
|
▪ Payroll Giving
There is no limit on the amount of your donation. |
|
▪ Gifts of
Quoted Shares
A donation of quoted shares will give you, the donor, both
capital gains tax and income relief at 40% on the value of the
shares. The charity can sell the shares without paying capital
gains tax. |
|
▪ Fundraising
events A
great way to involve family, friends and work colleagues in
putting something back into the fabric of life in MK – from fun
company events with contributions to MK SNAP to sponsored walks
– every contribution is valued and appreciated. |
