St Francis' Children's Society - Who We Are

We're a registered charity and a voluntary adoption agency which in the last 60 years has found families for over 2,000 children. We work with children, adults and families where adoption has or will be a significant part of their lives.

Adoption Services

SFCS is a specialist adoption agency which aims to offer a professional, efficient and sensitive service. We trust that this website will answer some, if not all of your questions.

We understand that adoption can be a challenging matter to talk about and we do encourage you to contact us. We're a friendly, approachable team and will aim to answer your questions - however large or small.

Helping Us

There can't be many things which are more worthwhile than helping a child to find a forever family! However, adoption is costly.
Recruiting adopters incurs staff time and advertising costs. Assessing and preparing a family for adoption takes many hours of social work time.

Supporting an adoptive family in the early days of an adoption placement, and then 'being there' for that child and family over the years ahead, again requires endless hours of skilled social work time and resources. Much of the work which St Francis' Children's Society undertakes, especially its support work with children and families, is dependent on voluntary funding. So, we do need your help!

As one recent supporter wrote when sending a donation, 'I have long admired the great work you do to help children find a good home - whatever their circumstances might be'. Your help too would be very much appreciated.
