Set in the old village of Simpson on the banks of the Grand Union Canal The Plough offers a relaxing, friendly atmosphere, freshly cooked locally produced food with fine wines and real ales.

Owners Ian and Claire Estick have refurbished this long established village pub to present a light, warm and modern look bar with ala carte dining and traditional bar fair. Personal travel pictures of stunning landscapes and signature sites from all around the world adds the personal touch so difficult to find in the growing world of chain pubs and restaurants.

Head chef Mark Wood, local to Milton Keynes for over 10 years has a reputation for exquisite steak and seafood dishes, sourcing from local butchers, farms and fish mongers. The ever changing ala carte menu mirrors the seasons and takes advantage of the best produce for the time of year.

The Restaurant

For those people in search of a relaxed dining experience the small restaurant is the place to be. To make sure that the dishes are as fresh and as tasty as possible the restaurant menu changes every 6 - 8 weeks to encompass the changes in seasons and the best produce available at the time.

With an extensive wine list, freshly ground coffee and un-crowded floor plan it offers everything for either that business lunch or family & friends night out. Attentive waiting staff and excellent food will make you return time and time again to try the different dishes available.

The Bar

The friendly bar offers the opportunity to enjoy drinks and traditional home cooked food with a large selection of wines by the glass. Thai fishcakes, Italian pannini grills and Moules mariniere sit along side the English traditionals of Beer battered fish and chips, homemade burgers and door step sandwiches.

The Set Lunch menu offers a lighter option from the full ala carte menu from the restaurant, and great value for money. It offers the most popular dishes from both menus and is available both in the bar and restaurant.

Limited for time? All bar and restaurant food can be pre-ordered to ensure you don’t have to rush lunch, or you have time to squeeze in that all important indulgent dessert and coffee before returning to work.
