Our
traditional Persian and Mediterranean food is home cooking at
its very best, prepared daily with care from impeccably fresh
ingredients. There are no show off elaborations here. Nothing,
including seasoning, is excessive. Portions are generous.
So what to order? Above all, try our rice. The remarkably fluffy
yet substantial pure white grains heaped on platters, is a
revelation in both taste and texture. A scattering of
saffron-coloured rice atop the white grains provides colour
contrast.
Meat eaters will like our options. Barg, soft as silk, slightly
smoky marinated lamb fillet slices is irresistible. Even more
intriguingly flavoured is Koubideh, a combination of minced lamb
wrapped around two skewers. Grilling imparts a haunting smoke
flavour.
Joujeh kebab squares of marinated chicken breast come off the
grill golden and moist. All these come with char grilled
tomatoes and rice or Persian flat bread. Various combination
plates are also available.
For those who love stews, Ghormeh Sabzi is a tasty lamb stew
with spinach, herbs and dried lime slices. Another two delicious
dishes with vegetarian offerings include Aubergine and Okra
dishes.
To go back to the beginning, the appetizers, all fresh and
distinctive, include Tzatziki with cucumber and mint; Olivieh, a
tasty chicken and potato salad; and the delightfully tasty Mirza
Ghasemi, a baked aubergine crushed with egg, tomato and garlic.
Lavash is our house bread. A soft flat and flavoured naan ideal
for making your own sandwich with kebab pieces, or for mopping
up any juices or food left on the plate. |
